Photography apps have allowed iOS users to create beautiful pictures without any editing knowledge, and the abundance of photography apps in the App Store is evidence that more and more users are looking for the next best photography app for their collection. There are plenty that come with filters, borders, and templates, but there are few apps that can take a picture and do something completely different.

Fragment is a different photography app in the sense that it isn’t like all the others. Instead of doctoring up a photograph, this app turns it into a piece of prismatic art and takes iPhoneography to the next level. The range of creativity that it offers is what makes it so appealing.

To get started, either take a photo or import one from the Camera Roll. Users can then select a photo ratio and toggle between fragment and photo editing. There are many different frames, shapes, and patters so users are able to unleash their creativity. Seeing the image fragment instantly into prism pieces is a really neat concept. Don’t worry about getting stuck on photo manipulation, as users can just tap shuffle for inspiration or even view a gallery of photos that others have fragmented.

Once users pick a fragmentation that they like it’s time to rotate, resize, frame, drag, zoom, and even crop. The app also lets users adjust color levels, blend, and edit photos even more. With a total of 46 different fragment options, 62 unique blend colors, 6 photo effects, and many more options, the creative possibilities are almost endless. After users are finished manipulating the photo, they can then share it via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, send it to another app, or save it to the Camera Roll. Users can also easily go back and refragment a photo if they aren't quite satisfied.

Describing the concept of Fragment doesn’t do it much justice. It’s way more fun to play around with it then it is to read about it. It’s certainly not a photography app that’s essential for iPhoneographers, but it’s definitely for those looking to do something different and artsy with their photos. Its smooth interface, originality, and cheap price tag make it a must-have for those looking for something unique and fun.
