Dungeon crawlers are a subset of the RPG genre made popular by games like Diablo. Players explore dungeons of varying levels, fighting enemies that they find on the way and gathering loot that will make their characters stronger. Dungeon Crawlers is exactly what its title suggests. This is a 3D dungeon crawling game. Though, where many crawlers have randomly generated levels and little or no plot, this game has a consistent story that takes the player through all twelve of the games currently available dungeon levels.

The action in Dungeon Crawler is turn based, allowing players to take a more strategic approach to their questing. The player controls a party of three or four adventurers including a warrior, a druid, an alchemist, and a dwarf. By using the different abilities and weapons of these characters, players make their way through dank dungeons filled with goblins, slime monsters, and even some huge boss monsters. As with many games in the RPG genre, as the player defeats enemies they are awarded experience points and their characters will level up, unlocking powerful new abilities as they do.

This game is rendered in 3D and the player can control the camera angle and zoom in and out to get the best view of the battleground. This helps when trying to find the best strategic solution to each fight. The rendered characters, enemies, and dungeons look pretty good and the animations are smooth. The interface, unfortunately, isn't nearly as smooth. The screen is crowded with large, gaudy status icons with tiny control buttons. Trying to use these tiny buttons can be very difficult and lead issuing many inadvertent commands to the adventurers.

Dungeon Crawlers delivers a solid dungeon crawling experience and its turn based combat works really well even if it's hard to control at times. The game looks great and the characters are humorous at times, but it is visually marred by its uninspired interface design. This game also delivers a good amount of original content for the price with more on the way.
