Danmaku Unlimited 2 brings forth colorful bullet patterns that will leave players in awe of how pretty they look and how deadly they can be. Not only does the game look gorgeous with the colorful visuals, but it also features a great soundtrack to go along with the frantic and precise bullet evading gameplay. This is a fantastic bullet-hell shooter that fans of the genre will enjoy in practically every way possible.

Danmaku Unlimited 2 provides four levels of difficulty, each one providing just as much entertainment and challenge as the next. Also, players are given two different options within Arcade mode; Burst and Classic Mode. Classic mode gives players the chance to play new stages with the classic shooting system from the original title while Burst mode offers something completely new with its shooting and scoring mechanics.

Burst mode on Normal difficulty was my drink of choice for high score runs on the leader board, even though Insane difficulty is a blast to try out and play even when it completely runs you over.

The gameplay is absolutely exciting thanks to its smooth control for precise movement throughout a pattern of oncoming bullets all while using the burst beam and trance mode to perfection allowing for the best possible scoring attack. While it may look like this game is all about moving between many bullets, it does have a strategy for increasing the multiplier and earning the highest score possible. Also, before the game starts, players can choose how they want their weapons to fire by selecting a focus shot, track shot, or wide angle shot. Each option lets players to play the way they see fit and provides a slightly different approach to the gameplay.

Once players complete the game for the first time they can unlock Boss Rush mode allowing them to more quickly study up on each boss to help better prepare for high score runs in Arcade mode or just for the additional challenge boss rush mode provides. While the appearance of each boss doesn’t strike fear in the player, the bullet patterns most certainly will throughout a multi-phase boss battle. These boss battles, in addition to each stage, really are quite a joy to play leading up to an ending that will certainly not disappoint.

Danmaku Unlimited 2 is a game where you don’t really know your enemies by face, but instead by the bullet pattern each one of them launches at you. This is bullet-hell at its best with many moments that will thrill players throughout the entirety of the game and afterwards. It offers wonderful replay value with a unique scoring system that players will love and will certainly want to play time and time again to challenge the top of the leaderboard. Most shooters can be very addictive when it comes to high score attempts and this title is no exception.
