Battle Command! might be well made but it's been done before, and fatigue is setting in steadily.

Battle Command! might start out pretty generous with its freemium-based currency and a decently sized single player campaign, but it's still essentially a twist on the usual Clash of Clans format. Is that a good thing? Not exactly.

The thing about being so similar to such a popular game is that it means that Battle Command! is both quite good and quite flawed. It's a format we've all seen before, quite a lot by now, but it does work.

Players work towards building up a base full of soldiers and powerful vehicles, in a bid to be the strongest fighting force out there. This is conducted in a fairly typical manner with players needing to accrue new resources as much as they need to train soldiers. Steel, oil, and crystals all affect how things are created - with the latter being the premium currency. Fortunately, the amount of crystals given early on is fairly generous with the completion of missions being key to acquiring more for free.

Such a helping hand goes some way to keeping the player hooked for longer, but Battle Command! is still very similar to all the other games of this ilk. Its shining moment is through the campaign mode it offers, giving players a structure to follow and stars to gain, all by competing against the game's AI. It adds a little more to the experience than there solely being PvP.

Despite that though, Battle Command! is still basically a reskinned version of a game we've seen many times before. It's well made, sure, but it must be about time that we saw things get truly mixed up within the genre, right?
