"Simple yet not necessarily easy" appears to be Puzzlium's motto. A unique puzzle-based social network, the game offers players the ability to create their own puzzles and share them with others, and vice versa. It's a cool concept and one that works well in ensuring that there's always plenty of content to enjoy.
Admittedly, Puzzlium won't win any prizes for its looks. Quite rudimentary in appearance, the app is clearly focused on content rather than style. Players can search through the various puzzles on offer with a picture demonstrating what to expect, as well as any relevant likes, number of players, and the average time in which it takes to complete the puzzle.
Puzzlium offers three main puzzle types: Tangrams, Tetromino puzzles, and Cut By Painting puzzles. While the latter involves dividing shapes into smaller shapes of equal size, the other two are a form of jigsaw puzzle. In each case, the puzzles only ever take a minute or two at most to complete but there's a certain level of satisfaction here. Controls are simple so the focus is squarely on figuring things out, with stars and experience rewarded for doing so.
Creating one's own puzzle is just as simply done, with it possible to create quite convoluted efforts if one wants to. By doing so, it ensures the community steadily grows, which is always a good thing.
Puzzlium might not be as complex as other puzzle games, but it's certainly ambitious. It's satisfying seeing more and more players take on one's creations, plus it's enjoyable tackling new ones. Puzzlium easily has some staying power for those looking for shape-based puzzles.
