Kazzy Review

For a task management/organizing app, Kazzy looks pretty stylish. Dispensing with the traditional methods of lists or colored boxes, Kazzy provides a circular interface with users dragging a finger around to create an appointment. Unfortunately though, it's not as intuitive as it looks.

Some of the problems stem from Kazzy's lack of a tutorial. Users are thrown in the deep end and left to figure things out for themselves. While it's easy enough to draw a circle to form one appointment, it's confusing when it comes to more complicated tasks. Creating an appointment is a matter of dragging a finger around the clock face with a color seemingly randomly appointed to it. Users can then tap on the entry to type in a name for the task. It's not possible to move up such tasks - other than to delete it and recreate it.

It's kind of fiddly getting the right time too, rarely feeling as quick or as simple as it should. Drawing a circle around the timer to set an hour or two appointment just takes a little too long to do accurately. Plus, having to manually add the task name afterwards is unnecessary. Throw in the fact that there's no way to create categories or manually adjust reminders, and Kazzy feels a little too basic for comfort. On the plus side, there is a history feature for past days that can be useful, especially given Kazzy's focus on the next 12 hours rather than long term organizing.

There's a nice idea within Kazzy as it's convenient to have a scheduling tool that's very simple, but this isn't it. It might look pretty, especially with the addition of themes that can be purchased for $0.99 each, but without the simple functionality it's likely that users will find themselves going elsewhere for their task managing needs.
