One short week ago, Pokémon TCG Pocket released the Solgaleo accessory set featuring the type of artwork that could make anyone weep. It was magnificent, and I heaped as much praise on it as it deserved. With this newest promo drop, I can only assume the Pokémon Company saw that and said, “Thank you, want to see us do it again?”.

The recipient of the artwork in question is Alolan Ninetales, a Pokémon that is adorable enough. This promo version, however, is absolutely majestic. Ninetales is regally standing on the top of a mountain in a snowstorm, and it looks stunning. The colourful border doesn’t overwhelm either, simply adding a playful touch to this masterpiece.

How do I get this wonderful card, I hear you cry? Well, it is a Promo Drop Event, so you need to beat them up. Just like catching them in the main game, the Pokémon world is a cruel place if you think about it for more than a second. Anyway, there are your standard four difficulty levels, and clearing any of them will have a chance to drop a promo pack containing Alolan Ninetales.

But wait, there's more, and it is annoying. There are four other promo cards you could pull instead, and none of them are anywhere near fancy enough to share the spotlight with Alolan Ninetales. You can get Alolan Exeggutor, Alolan Grimer, Toucannon, and Crabrawler. Begone, trash, bring me my Ninetales artwork.

Luckily, though, it must be said, Alolan Ninetales isn’t a bad card either. It's three three-water-energy Blizzard attack deals 60 damage, plus 20 to each of the opponents' benched Pokémon. Some of the past promos haven’t really been usable, but I could see this one finding a spot in some decks.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with the Promo event lasting until May 26th.
