Think pizza crossed with Paperboy and that’s pretty much all you need to expect of Pie In The Sky: A Pizza Odyssey. It’s a fun endless take on what worked so well for Paperboy all those years ago, plus it has an upgrade system to give you some direction.

As a space based pizza delivery boy, you have to dodge various obstacles such as other spaceships, asteroids, and even the odd monster. Tilt controls are your main method of control here, so fortunately, they work pretty well. The method isn’t overly sensitive meaning you still feel in control at all times, while also being able to pull off a quick manuever as and when is needed. A quick tap throws a pizza at the house or person it needs to be delivered too.

Pie In The Sky: A Pizza Odyssey adds to the formula through its upgrade system and pizza topping options. The former means you can buy a new ship or upgrade parts of the existing one, boosting your fuel and power, as well as your pizza throwing abilities. In time, you can launch numerous pizzas at once which makes tackling certain objectives that bit easier.

It’s the topping system that feels most ingenious though, enabling you to create your own pizza, as well as glean some benefits from them, such as enjoying a percentage bonus to your tips. Also, it’s pretty fun to make some rather disgusting creations.

Pie In The Sky: A Pizza Odyssey doesn’t have specific objectives or missions to complete, which is a bit of a missed opportunity, but it’s fun to play anyhow. Simply working towards new upgrades works quite well in giving you reasonable impetus to progress, and it’s the kind of game that should draw you in fairly well.
