Oh, My Cat! Review

Oh My Cat!

I've always had this sneaky suspicion that cats get up to a heck of a lot when your back is turned. Given how much I love my cat, I'm hoping he has adventures akin to that of Oliver in Oh, My Cat!

As an Endless Runner of sorts, Oh, My Cat! might not be the most exceptional or innovative of titles but it is quite good fun. Players control Oliver the cat while he travels in a spaceship up through an exciting new world. An exciting new world full of spikes, monsters and other dangers.

Tilt based controls determine much of the action with a tap of the screen initiating a speed boost. It's all quite intuitive and the controls are reasonably sensitive without being over the top. The key behind progressing in Oh, My Cat! is to not only avoid the obstacles, but to collect coins as you glide along. These coins can then be used to unlock new power ups and, eventually, new spaceships. It's simple stuff but adds some much needed purpose to the game.

Other collectibles exist in the form of unlockable photos of Oliver's journey. They don't add anything physical to the game but they are cute to gaze at. Other impetus stems from the selection of achievements, or missions as the game likes to call them, which trickle in the more you progress.

Cuteness is the order of the day here, though, and the sight of a cat being chased by a rat firing missiles from a spaceship is quite distinctive and loveable.

Oh, My Cat! doesn't offer quite enough content to be as addictive as some of the more popular Endless Runners already out there, but it is cute enough to give some acknowledgement to. With a little more content, there could be something special within these spaceship walls.

Oh My Cat!

Oh, My Cat! isn't the most revolutionary of Endless Runner games but it is charmingly sweet.
