The genre I play more than anything is - without a doubt - MMORPGs, by which I mean one in particular, but I have tried a huge range of them. So, I am always interested when a new one enters the market, which is why X.D. Global's announcement for Go Go Muffin has caught my eye.

To be honest, the name also had a lot to do with it; you read that, you need to check it out. X.D says the idea behind this game was to combine the relaxing nature of titles such as Animal Crossing, with a usual MMO. A bold dream, and one you can get a peek at on October 23rd.

That is when the Closed Beta will begin, and to be in with a shot to enter, you need to pre-register. You can do this through thewebsite, Google Play, or the App Store. It is worth noting even if you pre-order through the stores, you should also check out the website, as it has preview clips of each of the five classes and their evolutions.

Pre-registration will also net you the exclusive Melomon pet, which are summonable companions to help you in battles, and a system I adore. You will fight alongside them as a Swordbearer, Wayfarer, Scholar, Shadowlash, or Acolyte. If you feel like you need more help, you can join a guild and team up with other players.

Of course, for a game with Muffin in the title, it can’t all be combat. There is plenty of scope for you to simply kick back with your friends, or engage in the true purpose of MMOs; creating your dream outfit. Even levelling can be a chill activity with the idle system granting you rewards when you return.

One final piece of interesting news; Go Go Muffin uses a vertical mode during gameplay. It is an unusual choice for an MMO, but it does mean you can play one-handed if you are otherwise occupied. It is certainly an intriguing title and seems like it might make a perfect entry point for those new to the genre. One to watch for sure.
