Where Shadows Slumber iOS screenshot - A platforming puzzle

The week is about to come to a pretty satisfying conclusion. You've got the weekend to look forward to, but after that another five days of the regular grind you have to go through to make money for games and sandwiches. If only you had something else to look forward to. Well, how about these awesome games that are going to be landing on the App Store next week?

We hope that's enough, because to be honest we don't really have anything else to offer. A hug if we ever meet? That's probably a bit too weird to be fair. Anyway, next week we've got rockets, pigs, more rockets, monkeys, and escaping from a cube, and those all sound like the sort of stuff you're going to love.

We've included pre-order links with all of the games so you can leap across to the App Store no harm no foul and make sure you're ready to receive them when they're released. And if you think we've missed anything out, feel free to let us know in the comments section all the way down there at the bottom of this here article.

Trixel Rocket - preorder for iOS

This one's got some pretty amazing graphics, thanks in part to the trixels mentioned in the title. Think triangular pixels and you're some of the way there. It's also set to be a super-quick reaction tester that lets you fly around in space.

It's a free to play, one-finger sort of a game, but don't let that put you off. It looks like the sort of game that messes around with the shape of the genre it's sitting in, and quite frankly that's almost always a good thing.

Ammo Pigs: Armed and Delicious - preorder for iOS

Pigs of war. This is a side-scrolling blast-'em-up that looks like the sort of thing that, if the controls are right, is going to be brilliant to play on mobile. In the game the world has been taken over by a slaughterhouse AI, and only the pigs are left alive to stop it.

You need to rescue fellow porcine rebels, shoot everything that moves, and try and stay alive long enough to see the dawn of an AI-less world on planet Earth. The game will set you back $1.99 when it lands, and we reckon it's got the sort of action chops you're going to love.

Cube Escape: Paradox - preorder for iOS

Apparently this is the tenth game in the Cube Escape series. It's another weird-as-all-hell point and click adventure set in the massive universe of the Rusty Lake series. Everything is interconnected, everything adds to the story, and most things are going to have you making noises like 'uh?', 'you what?', and 'that's odd.'

It might not be the game to pick up if you've never played any of the other Cube Escape or Rusty Lake games, but if you're a fan then we bet you've been waiting for this one with your fingers crossed and your points ready to click. And it's not going to set you back anything when it lands on the App Store next week.

Where Shadows Slumber - preorder for iOS

We've been waiting for this one for quite a while now, but that thumb-twiddling two year pause is all but over. The awesome-looking Where Shadows Slumber is set to come out next week, on September 20th. At least it is if the App Store is to be believed anyway.

The game is all about manipulating light to complete puzzles, but there's so much more going on than that. There's a magic lantern for one thing, and the fact that anything not bathed in light is subject to change. You can probably tell we're pretty excited for this one. It'll set you back $4.99 when it hopefully lands next week.
