The Survivalists is available now for Apple Arcade

The Survivalists, Team 17's latest game that's set in The Escapists universe, is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam and most importantly for iOS gamers, Apple Arcade.

The Survivalists will see players being dropped onto a procedurally generated island where they'll have to, well, survive, obviously. To do so, they'll need to explore, craft and train groups of monkeys to perform a variety of tasks for them such as battling savage beasts, building or chopping down trees for resources.

This is called the Monkey Mimic System and will allow players to train up to 20 simians to complete different tasks for them. It won't just be primates that can accompany players on the island, they can also be joined by up to four of their pals before attempting to survive together.

Of course, as with any survival game, there will also be ample items to craft such as weapons and tools to keep your people armed, protected and sheltered. It'll also be important to explore as thoroughly as possible, encounters with dangerous wildlife may seem treacherous but it could uncover useful secrets.

They added: “We can’t wait for players to shipwreck themselves on their very own island, as they start their new life surrounded by their monkey pals, uncovering all of the secrets, and danger, their island has to offer!”

The Survivalists is available now over on Apple Arcade, a subscription service that costs $4.99 per month.
