The literary universe of RuneScape expands with two new offerings
The world of Gielinor has many wonderful and fantastic tales, as you would expect for a game like Runescape which has been running for about a billion years. So many in fact, that they can’t all be told in one place, and so Jagex has collaborated to bring a few new written stories to the world.
Let's start with the slightly late but still festive tale; Runescape: The Fall of Hallowvale. This is a story penned by Robbie McNiven, a man who has contributed a huge amount to the Black Library, the collective works of the Warhammer 40k universe. Quite the get for Jagex.
The Fall of Hallowville is a story full of duty, magic, and vampires, which sees Lord Draken descend up Hallowville with an army of evil. Queen Efaritay will command the town's knights in a desperate struggle, gambling on a risky strategy that might spell doom for all her people. You can pick this book up now for $18.99.
Comic fans can also start collecting RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars courtesy of Titan Comics. It is a four-part mini-series focusing on the God Wars dungeon questline, written by Ryan O’Sullivan. The art was drawn by Daniel Bayliss, and Sid Kotian, who worked on the series of one of my favourite Marvel superheroes; Gambit.
The comics will be set during an epic battle between four forces, all trying to claim the power of the Godsword. Our central hero is Maro, a man trapped in the battle, yearning to break free from his master. Issue 1 is out now, followed by 2 on December 4th, 3 on February 18th, and 4 on the far-off date of March 26th. Number 1 will cost $4.99, and each physical copy comes with a code for 200 Runecoins, which costs $5.99. You will be getting paid to read, so that's not bad.
You can enjoy where all these stories came from by downloading Runescape from the App Store and Google Play.
