The Curse of Issyos is the latest game to be ported to mobile and published by Abylight S.L who previously worked on Cursed Castilla. Much like that port, this game was also originally created by Spanish developers Locomalito. The Curse of Issyos will be available for iOS on 30th April.

Much like Cursed Castilla, The Curse of Issyos is a relatively recent game that's proudly influenced by retro games. The game starts with a man named Defkalion peacefully fishing when he's suddenly warned by the Goddess Athena that the Isle of Issyos has been cursed by Olympus.

That island happens to be where his daughter – and only living family – Delia lives so Defkalion wastes no time in heading back there to try and save her before it's too late. With that little introduction complete, you'll be thrown into an 8-bit inspired action platformer.

You'll be battling your way through 7 levels where you'll have to fight over 40 different enemies along the way. There will also be 9 bosses that you'll need to best in combat too if you want to save your daughter. Exploration will be rewarded too as there is apparently a secret level that will change the outcome of the entire game.

Abylight has shown a commendable commitment to include a variety of ways for players to enjoy the games they publish and The Curse of Issyos is no different. The game can be played in either or portrait or landscape orientation whilst you'll also be able to use on-screen virtual controls or connect an Xbox, PS4 or MFi controller to play it.

The Curse of Issyos is available to pre-order now over on the App Store ahead of its release on 30th April. It will be a premium game that costs $1.99.
