That's another week in the books, signalling another roundup of the best new games we got to play this week. There was quite a range, from reimaginings of arcade classics to atmospheric indie puzzlers. If you're looking for something new to try out, here are the finest games that have launched recently.

Tavern Guardians
Sure, the match-three genre may be old hat by now, but Tavern Guardians has somehow managed to take that tried and true formula and morph it into something really special. Players match different items on the board to kill increasingly difficult enemies. It requires some finely tuned strategy (and sometimes a bit of luck) to make it round after round. With a few different heroes to choose from and lots of loot and equipment to upgrade, you'll be surprised by how quickly this game can consume you.

After the End: Forsaken Destiny
This pretty little adventure game is one for the Journey fans. It features gorgeous environments in a mysterious, post-apocalyptic setting. The game's scattered with a variety of unique puzzles, that will keep you guessing.

The Escapists
A fun survival game that may look small, but has big ambitions, The Escapists is a thrilling sandbox adventure. The main goal? To escape from prison using whatever means you see fit. That could mean anything from crafting tools to carve your way out of your cell while convincing the guards that you're not up to anything fishy.

Pan-Pan
The Monument Valley vibes are pretty clear here, but Pan-Pan brings it own flair, too. It's a capable adventure game set in beautiful, diverse locales with lots of tricky environmental puzzles for you to sort out.

Breakforcist
This bright, funky brick breaker will make you hungry for waffles, but it's also a deeply satisfying arcade game. There are lots of goals and unlockables that will keep you coming back, despite the game's devious difficulty.
