Ovivo iOS screenshot best games of the week

This week's new releases have landed on the App Store. There's not a massive amount of new games this week, but there's more than enough awesome digital entertainment to leave you pondering where to spend your hard-earned cash. Don't worry though, that's where we come in.

Every week we round up the best games to come out for iPhone and iOS, cutting down the long grass so you can find the beautiful flowers. There are download links too, so you can swoop over to the App Store and grab the game without so much as a second thought. Which is pretty cool if you ask me. Oh, and if you think we've missed anything, make sure you let us know in the comments.

Umiro - download for iOS

An intriguing game that's perfect for mobile devices. You're drawing on the screen to lead our heroes to crystals. Once you've started walking, there's nothing you can do to stop, so you need to time your wanderings to avoid the obstacles that litter the levels. Clever, lovingly put together, and a little bit gorgeous too.

Candleman - download for iOS

As you might be able to tell from the title, Candleman is about a man who is a candle. You control him as he wanders through a series of levels, using his glowing head to light a bunch of other candles. It's an interesting idea, and the interplay between the light and the dark makes for some pretty good exploration-based gaming.

Hyperforma - download for iOS

A game about hacking. You slip into cyberspace then need to smash your way into a series of different systems. The game looks absolutely stunning, and there's an intriguing story bubbling on underneath everything as well. It might be lacking a little when it comes to mechanics, but there's enough here to like all the same.

Marvel Strike Force - download for iOS

A midcore squad-based RPG featuring all of your favorite characters from Marvel comics. Build up a team of superheroes or supervillains and then use them to bash the faces off anyone that looks at them funny. There's single player and PvP, and a noose-tight compulsion loop that's going to squeeze you into the game if you let it.

Ovivo - download for iOS

At first glance Ovivo looks like a standard platformer, but the more you get into it the more you realize it's something pretty special. You're swapping between white and black sections of levels, using the change in angle and gravity to leap about. Definitely the sort of game that makes you think differently about the way you play.

Old Man's Guilt - download for iOS

Another interesting puzzle platformer. This one's got a deep narrative about an old man returning to an island. You need to solve simple challenges and avoid traps. The game has a unique look that really sets it apart, and it's a little more measured than your usual App Store platforming fare.
