It goes without saying, but I'm going to anyway, that actual gameplay and graphics are incredibly important, but they can mean nothing without the right sound. Music sets the atmosphere, whether it's relaxing in a town, the budding swell of adventure, or that dramatic twang when a boss arrives, and Tarisland has landed itself a legend in this arena.

The upcoming cross-platform MMORPG has announced that world-renowned, Emmy Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated composer Russell Brower will be contributing a lot of music for the game, across a multitude of different regions in the world. Having such proven hands taking the reins in the audio realm definitely sets Tarisland in good stead. You might not recognise the name Russell Brower, sadly the audio-visual staff are hardly ever well publicised, but he has a catalogue of experience behind him. In the gaming sphere, Brower’s biggest claim to fame is as Senior Director of Audio and Lead Composer at Blizzard, where he worked on Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft, some high-profile names.

Outside of gaming, Brower has his fingerprints on TV shows such as Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and a little-known show called Batman: The Animated Series. If there is any one project to showcase his skills, it is this. The Batman series has been critically acclaimed, especially thanks to its dark graphic style and amazing soundtrack. All this to say, Tarisland is almost guaranteed to have an incredible soundtrack.

If you want to get this goodness to your earholes as soon as possible, then the second Closed Beta test is set to begin this November. Android players across Europe, Asia, and the Americas will be able to get a sneak peek at proceedings, in either English, French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish.

Tarisland is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android in the first quarter of 2024, and you can keep an eye on the official website in the meantime.
