SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated coming to mobile later this month

Publisher HandyGames and developer Purple Lamp Studios is bringing SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated to iOS and Android devices on 21st January.
It’s a 3D platformer based on the popular children’s cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as a remake of the original Battle for Bikini Bottom which released on GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation 2 back in 2003. THQ Nordic released this remake last year on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. In it, you play as iconic characters SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy as they set out to foil the nefarious plans of Plankton as he creates an army of robots which take over Bikini Bottom. The game is set across a series of different levels which take you to various iconic locations from the show including Goo Lagoon, the Krusty Krab and Jellyfish Fields, and have you defeating robots in each area and finding secret rewards.
Each level has a series of Golden Spatulas you’ll need to find to progress through the game, with each one being rewarded for solving a puzzle, completing a platforming section or simply getting to the end of a stage. There are a hundred Golden Spatulas to find across the game’s dozen stages so there are plenty of secrets to unearth.
You also collect socks for Patrick which are dotted throughout each level. These items are a bit more cleverly hidden than the spatulas, requiring you to pay closer attention to find each one.

You will also come across different side characters from the series to interact with, such as fan favourite characters like Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff, and each one will present you with challenges and side missions to complete for rewards.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated will release on the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android on 21st January. It will be a premium title costing $8.99.
