Skylanders Ring of Heroes' latest update introduces a new battle mode called Sky Tower

Following the various game-changing updates made to Skylanders Ring of Heroes last year, the latest update to Activision and Com2uS' team-based RPG has introduced a new battle mode and they will celebrate its arrival with various in-game events.

This new mode is called the Sky Tower and will feature a number of battle scenarios that will see players creating up to three battle decks based on their in-game tier. Players can't use two of the same character on each team, meaning they'll need to make use of more of their existing roster.

Up to two characters can be added and switched between whilst the battle is underway. The developers hope this will lead to players using more diverse strategies, particularly since they will have to consider multiple scenarios where their opponent will use a variety of abilities.

This game mode will operate on a seasonal basis and will reward players with an in-game currency that can be used for upgrades. These prizes will be given out once the season has concluded and will be based on how players fared during that time.

Meanwhile, running from tomorrow until January 4th, there will be an event called Premium Summon Ticket. This will allow every player to summon one high-grade Skylander each day, simply for remembering to sign into the game.

Finally, from now until January 17th, players can also participate in a Mission Event. This will give players various rewards depending on the number of times they enter the Sky Tower that will include the likes of Sky Tower coins, Evolution Splendors and Awakening stones.

Skylanders Ring of Heroes is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
