Romancing SaGa Re;Universe, Square Enix's upcoming mobile RPG, looks set to release for iOS and Android in June

Square Enix's upcoming mobile spin-off. Romancing SaGa Re;Universe, now appears to have a release date, as first spotted by TouchArcade. It looks like the RPG will be heading for iOS and Android devices on 23rd June, so just over a month away.

It was initially announced back in February when Square Enix started taking pre-registers on Google Play ahead of a closed beta test that was held in March. It's been a little quiet since then but this App Store listing suggests fans of the series won't have to wait too much longer.

Square Enix says that the game will be a classic JRPG designed for a modern age and promises that its tactical battle system will appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers alike. That's a tough balance to find though, so it remains to be seen if they can manage it.

The story sees the world facing an impending apocalypse that feels hopelessly inevitable. This is because every 300 years a cycle of destruction known as the Rise of Morastrum devastates the land and wipes out all life. It'll be up to the player to assemble a team that can stand against this force to end the cycle.

Once you've gathered your team there will apparently be several customisation options available to players. They will each have their own skills to choose from alongside several different roles that they can fulfil within a team.

Romancing SaGa Re;Universe is available to pre-order now over on the App Store and Google Play. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
