Tencent's popular battle royale shooter PUBG Mobile is set to host a new esports event this year. It will be called PUBG Mobile World League Season Zero and aims to provide fans with the best global competition possible with the current world state.

That means it will be entirely online and the number of teams that will be able to compete has been increased to 40. The prize pool stands at $850,000 with the tournament itself taking place from 10th July to 9th August, giving fans a month's worth of esports action to enjoy.

It will be divided into East and West Leagues, which will start at 6 pm IST and 12:30 am IST respectively on July 10th. So if you're an avid battle royale on mobile esports viewer, you'll want to make sure you're subscribed to the PUBG Mobile esports YouTube channel.

This has been created in partnership with ESL and will be home to all offline matches once it's safe to host them once again.

PUBG Mobile is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
