The Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza event starts today

Pokémon GO is joining in on the timely spate of spring-themed festivities cropping up across the mobile gaming landscape this week. The Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza starts this afternoon at 1 P.M. PDT and runs until 1 P.M. PTD on April 20.

The Eggstravaganza is a great way to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather, as players will temporarily be able to hatch a wider variety of Pokémon from 2km eggs. That means you might be able to find more rare Pokémon in common eggs, so get walking. You'll also find more candy with every egg you hatch.

Throughout the course of the event, players will earn double XP. That number is doubled once again if you're holding a Lucky Egg. To cap it all off, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off in the shop for the duration of the festivities.

We admit it's not necessarily the most inspired of the Pokémon GO events so far, but it's still a good opportunity to bolster your Pokédex and level up.
