Pixel Starships puts forward its entry for most confusing collaboration with Double Dragon team-up

Do you remember that famous scene when Ellen Ripley round house kicked the Alien straight in the face? No of course you don’t, because in a world of sci-fi and lasers, somehow that would be ridiculous. It seems SavySoda disagree, however, as they have announced the iconic beat 'em up series Double Dragon is coming to the world of Pixel Starships.
It is an absurd team-up that makes no sense, especially seeing as I don’t recall any Double Dragon property on the horizon, but it is amusing nonetheless. It will also no doubt add a bit to Pixel Starships playerbase, not that they need the help. It’s racked up over 10 million users during its time for good reason. I was one, and it is an excellent title. This crossover brings with it characters from the Double Dragon series, such as lead characters Billy and Jimmy Lee. You will be able to recruit these as elite-level crew members, where they will no doubt serve best as muscle for ground battles or ship invasions. I’ve never gotten my car to go faster by punching it, so I can’t see how this duo would succeed as spaceship engineers.

On top of the new crew, you can get your hands on special ship skins, themed rooms, and items inspired by the series. There is also the opportunity to experience a Double Dragon-themed storyline, which is pretty exciting for fans of the iconic games. It comes packed with challenges you can undertake to earn rewards and show off your allegiance to the pugilist path. As for the specifics, SavySoda is playing this one close to the vest, even the trailer reveals nothing, so that will be a fun surprise.
Pixel Starships is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with the Double Dragon collaboration kicking off on October 6th.
