Old School RuneScape will be sending a lot of you screaming out of the room with the latest Slayer Boss

Before we leap into this, I feel that I need to flag this: Arachnophobes may want to click off this article now because there will be a lot of talk about spiders. For those still here, Jagex has announced an almighty, powerful new creepy crawly creature to tackle in Old School RuneScape.

It has been close to five years since Old School RuneScape welcomed a Slayer Boss, and that was the pretty difficult Alchemical Hydra. Now is the turn of Araxxor, a giant monstrous spider tagged with a combat level of 890, so you are in for a difficult battle. You also need a Slayer level of 92 to take them on. Those who have played regular RuneScape may remember the debut of Araxxor some ten years ago, but now they are reimagined as a solo encounter. You will need to head deep into the swamp of Morytania to confront this mammoth arachnid, whilst being mobbed by swarms of araxxytes. If you weren't scared of spiders before, you might be after this.

This Slayer Boss is pretty heavily melee-focused, with Araxxor descending upon you with massive fangs and spouting venomous acid. All the fun arsenal you'd expect a spider to be packing. If you go toe to toe with this beast and manage to fell it, however, you will be swimming in the loot, so steel yourselves.

To keep those acrophobic nightmares rolling, you can walk away from this fight with an Araxyte head in your pocket to turn into a helmet. You could also come out with an adorable araxxyte pet named Nid to accompany you on your adventure. The biggest prize on offer however is the rather unassuming araxyte fang. Grab this, and you can get your hands on the new best-in-slot Amulet of Rancour by merging it with an Amulet of Torture.
