Niantic has unveiled more details about Pokemon Go Fest 2021

Niantic has recently unveiled a host of new details for Pokemon GO's Go Fest 2021. Firstly, since this year is the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series and the 5th birthday of Pokemon Go itself, the tickets for the virtual event will cost $5 instead of $14.99.
The first day of Go Fest 2021, which will take place from 10 am to 6 pm local time on Saturday 17th July, will have rotating habitats throughout the day, featuring Pokemon that would feel at home in a Jungle, Desert Mountain, Ocean Beach and Cave. Players will also be able to run into Shiny variants of Whismur, Chimecho, Audino, and Tympole.
The above will be available regardless of whether players purchase a ticket or not. For those that decide to buy in, they can also complete a Special Research that will net players various rewards, including an encounter with a Mythical Pokemon. Niantic hasn't announced which this would be just yet, but given the music theme of the festival, my bet would be Meloetta.

Day 2 of the event, which runs from 10 am to 6 pm local time on Sunday 18th July, will be heavily focused on Raids. Here, players will earn 10,000 XP in raid rewards simply for completing a Raid Battle, whilst up to 10 Raid Passes can be grabbed by spinning Gyms. Similarly, there will Time Research to complete that will yield up to eight Remote Raid Passes.

Pokemon Go is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
