Netflix announces the impending arrival of new games including massive sports series
I don’t know about you, but I have gotten pretty bored of Netflix personally, nothing has grabbed my attention recently. My subscription is still active, though, which will work for my adventure as the streaming juggernaut has announced some new games coming to their catalogue, and some of them are huge names.
The two drama series Ginny & Georgia, and Sweet Magnolias have both been hits with Netflix, surviving for multiple seasons each. To capitalize on their popularity, they will both be thrust into the video gaming world through Netflix Stories, available on Android and Apple, giving fans the opportunity to get hands-on with the stories.
Netflix Stories takes popular series and turns them into original interactive stories with you as the main character. There have been some incredibly popular entries, including Outer Banks and, somehow, Love is Blind. In fact, these two have been so well received, that they will be getting new stories in 2025.
Stories are all well and good, but what if you want to just punch someone in the face? Well, you probably can in some of them, so, what if you want to lamp someone with a ladder? Following Netflix’s recent TV rights acquisition of the WWE franchise, the WWE 2K video games will be coming to mobile in the fall of 2025.
Despite historically being legally beaten by a flock of birds over at the World Wildlife Fund and having to be renamed from the WWF, World Wrestling Entertainment is the place to go to watch wrestling. There are some alternatives such as All Elite Wrestling, but it's hard to see anyone dethroning WWE anytime soon.
This is much the same in the video game world; 2K WWE reigns supreme. The series has slumped in recent years, but they appear to be on the upswing again lately, making this the perfect time for the titles to come to mobile. With WWE 2k25 coming this March, it will be interesting to see if this recovery continues, and more importantly, if this latest instalment will also come to mobile.
