’Twas a week before Christmas, when all through Lorencia, not a creature was stirring, except your pet Garuda… all thanks to the new Pet Awake system. which allows you to awaken your MU Origin pets’ hidden potential.

There are three types of elemental power to unlock and enhance: Fire & Lightning, Earth & Ice and Wind & Water. Each will give your pets an attack boost, but you can only access Pet Awake once you complete the main quest ‘Seeking Peace’ after Rebirth 10 Level 20. Then it’s a case of choosing which type of power for which pet. Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to pick up various elemental essences from shops across the land to increase your pets’ damage and penetration.

There’s more than fire and ice to sing about in this latest update. Force Wars might sound like a new Star Wars film, but it’s actually a new Force-based PvP system in the MUniverse. Every Saturday, you can dive into one of five battlefields to fight alongside your force. It’s essentially a control-point style competition, with seven points across each battlefield to occupy. You’ll be squabbling with rival forces in an attempt to plant your flag at each point — the more you capture, the higher your capture rate and the more likely you are to win. The better you do across each battlefield, the higher your rank, and the bigger the rewards.

Something which will likely come in handy during Force Wars is your Immortal Shield. This isn’t just any old shield — it’s a permanent source of defense in PvP battles and could be the difference between you winning a duel and losing one. Your Immortal Shield has various attributes, including durability and absorption rate, and you can enhance these with Unbound Diamonds, Immortal Essence and Immortal Jewels. Unlock this new defense system by completing the ‘Fracture’ quest after your character reaches Rebirth 10 Level 20. It’s like having an armour-clad guardian angel hanging on your shoulder.

As well as some other behind-the-scenes tweaks, you might notice Lorencia, Noria and Devias have all been spruced up a bit in this new update. It’s about time some loot was spent on town maintenance, rather than post-battle pints down the local tavern — MU has a reputation to uphold, after all.
