2017 was a pretty outstanding year for mobile games, and one we won't soon forget. While you might still be working through your back log of positively brilliant games from the past year, we're still excited to see what the next year has in store. While we're expecting plenty of surprises along the way (that's the nature of the biz, after all), there are quite a few games already announced that we're eager to get a hold of. Here are five of our most anticipated games of 2018.

Brawl Stars

We're excited to see the sort of impact Brawl Stars, Supercell's upcoming tactical hero shooter, will have on the world of competitive mobile gaming. A new Supercell release is always a big deal, and we're expecting this one to take the App Store by storm.

Donut County

Annapurna Interactive has published some of the most interesting games of 2017, and they're set to continue that trend with Donut County. It also happens to be one of our favorite games we played at PAX East last year. It's an oddball game a bit like reverse Katamari. You start out as a teeny hole in the ground, which will gradually grow bigger by swallowing more and more stuff. It's clever and full of weird humor.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Niantic brought Pokémon to life with Pokémon GO, and now they're set to work their magic again in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. It's another AR title where players will be fighting together against the Dark Arts and fearsome magical beasts.

Alto's Odyssey

This sequel to Alto's Adventure brings things to the desert, but you'll find more of the atmospheric endless snowboarding that made the original game such a joy to play.

The Room: Old Sins

Old Sins promises to carry on The Room series' tradition of quality, eerie puzzles. We don't know much about the game other than you can expect it sometime this year.
