Melvor Idle releases its first paid DLC Throne of the Herald along with highly anticipated new skill

The Runescape-inspired idle RPG, Melvor Idle, has launched its first paid expansion, Throne of the Herald. The expansion will bring a gripping new story as well as a boatload of new content, including a new skill available for all players.
The Throne of the Herald will set the player on a new journey through the mystical world of Melvor, looking for answers about the mysterious titular Herald. Along with the new story, this new expansion will provide a huge amount of new content to the already expansive game. The level cap has been upped to 120, new dungeons have been released, new slayer areas opened, new monsters to hunt and of course, a final boss fight that will push player skills to their limit. To help combat these new threats, there is new gear to acquire, more spells to learn and plenty more besides.
The creator of Melvor Idle, Brendan Malcolm, said: “When I started working on Melvor Idle back in 2018 I never imagined we’d be here right now releasing our first DLC, with the support of the studio that most inspired me in the first place. This is by no means the last update we have in mind for Melvor Idle, and I look forward to working with Jagex Partners to deliver even more great content to our community.”

It isn't all content, as the developers have been hard at work crafting a variety of improvements to the game for everyone, even those that don’t buy the expansions. There have been a few general quality-of-life tweaks and some increased mod support but most importantly is the release of the hotly anticipated Township skill.
This new skill adds a management simulator of sorts that requires the player to manage resources to help the town flourish. Whilst it will just sit as management, for now, a future update to the skill will incorporate combat, which sounds fairly exciting.
Melvor Idle is available to download free from the App Store and Google Play. The Throne of the Herald DLC will be available to purchase for $4.99.
