Move over, Clash of Clans. Step aside, Forge of Empires - there’s a new mobile base-builder in town, and Mad Rocket: Fog of War isn’t afraid to put its own stamp on the genre.
Published by Four Thirty Three, the game has just launched on iOS and Android off the back of a successful soft launch, during which player feedback was positive.
Mad Rocket is all about building and destruction, but it’s the Fog of War itself which really differentiates it from the competition. The game plays out on a tile-based map and enemy bases are completely shrouded in fog, which adds an extra layer of strategy.
You’ll have a powerful arsenal on your side, made up of units which can withstand air strikes and reduce buildings to rubble, though the compromised visibility forces players to think on their feet. You’ll unlock more powerful weapons as you progress, but Mad Rocket isn’t just about the firepower you’re packing.
The game also places a major emphasis on the base-building side of things and users will have the chance to put a personal stamp on their strongholds.
Ratatat Studios has been refining Mad Rocket based on player feedback throughout soft launch and will continue to improve the game from here. The studio is hoping that the community will help shape the title’s future by creating and sharing user-generated tactics.
