Lady Layton gets a new title, Layton's Mystery Journey, still coming out in 2017

The popular puzzle game series, Professor Layton, will be getting a new spinoff in the previously announced Lady Layton. Now more details have come out regarding the game, its release date, and a new title.

Now called Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy, the previously announced game from the popular Level-5 series, Professor Layton revealed more details about its worldwide release, which will see a release on both mobile iOS devices as well as Nintendo's own 3DS handheld system.

The game will release in Japan first with the 3DS version priced at 4,800 yen and the mobile version priced at 1,900 yen ($17.49) but will include optional in-game purchases for players looking to buy an extra leg up while solving those difficult puzzles.

The Layton series has been one of the most popular Nintendo mobile properties since the first Professor Layton game debuted on the original Nintendo DS. Players travel around a whimsical environment solving various puzzles and brain teasers while solving some kind of overarching mystery. Despite not starring Professor Layton this time around, no doubt players will encounter an equally charming journey when Layton's Mystery Journey arrives worldwide on mobile sometime this fall.
