Iron Saga is an upcoming mecha battle game for iOS and Android. It's set to release on the 12th December when it will bring a plethora of modes to hopefully allow players to enjoy some mecha combat on the go.

Iron Saga is set in a world where stories of great mecha battles of yore are becoming distant memories. So that leads to some old forces reawakening to try and spark the current crop of mecha pilots into having those great battles again, essentially by starting wars. It's an interesting, if a little odd idea, wanting to create new stories of grand battles by causing conflict.

You'll be able to choose whether you want to wade into battle alone or accompanied by a team of battle mechas. The battlefield will constantly shift throughout the fights meaning you'll need to master control over your mecha so you can dodge incoming attacks before returning fire yourself with guns or getting up close and personal with your metal fists.

There'll be over 500 mechas to choose from with 100 pilots to control them, which is naturally where the free-to-play model is likely to come in. This will also probably extend to the seemingly huge number of customisation options available with the developers claiming there are over 100,000 skin and effect combinations.

As mentioned earlier, there will be several game modes available on launch so if you're a fan of mecha combat but want more than a single-player story, there should hopefully be something for you here. The names of these modes include Guessing Arena, Combat Simulation, Rocket Pack and Corps conflicts.

Iron Saga is available to pre-register now on the App Store and Google Play ahead of the release on 12th December. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
