So you've downloaded War Tortoise, started working your way through it, and before you know it you're being swarmed by beetles and starting to panic.

Don't worry there, friend. Read on for some tips on how best to tackle combat in War Tortoise and avoid watching the titular reptile die at the hands of some pesky bugs.

Go wild

The targeting reticule in the game is very, very generous. So long as an enemy is in the big circle, you'll probably hit it.

Swing your gun around with wild abandon, and you'll probably land a fair few hits on your enemies without even trying. Then be sure to focus in on one creature so you can actually kill it, of course.

Group discount

Thanks to the huge reticule, you can catch a few enemies in your sights at any one time, and don't need to just focus on one at a time.

Try and get two or three in your reticule when aiming to save you from having to refocus your gun once your target is dead.

The big guns

Don't forget about your special weapons, the sniper rifle and Howitzer. If an enemy is taking too long to die, whip out a bigger gun to take it down.

They have much less ammo than your machine gun and take a while to reload, however, so make sure you switch back as soon as its dead to avoid taking too much damage.

Set it to auto

Look - you may think you're all that, but the computer is better than you. That's just a fact.

Hit the auto button and let your gunner do all the work for you. It catches enemies faster than you can, and leaves you free to grab minerals and work out your next upgrades.
