Grimvalor iOS screenshot - Fighting a fire breathing monster

Normally on Fridays we round up the best games that are coming out in the next seven days. But it wasn't a normal Friday last week, for a number of different reasons, so we're going to do it today instead. Because that's just how we roll - carelessly and with little regard for our own safety.

So here are the games that are coming out this week that you should be getting excited about. There's some really interesting looking gems in the list, and at least one game that we've had our eye on for a while.

If you know of other games coming out this week that you think people should know about, then chuck those suggestions in the comments right down there at the bottom of the article. And if you've a penchant for lists, click here and you'll be able to check out all of the ones we've written.

Grimvalor - preorder for iOS

A side-scrolling action RPG with a meaty price point, plenty of violence, and a sprinkling of that darkness that players seem to love nowadays. The game is all about the combat, with fast-paced combos key to your success. This one is going to set you back $4.99 when it comes out later this week, and we're well into it.

Galerider

Do you remember Panzer Dragoon Saga? If you answered yes to that, then you should start getting excited about Galerider right this second. It's all about flying a huge dragon through a series of levels and shooting the teeth off of anything that looks you funny. Quite frankly we don't understand why there haven't been more games riffing on the Space Harrier template recently, so we're stoked to see what Galerider might be able to do.

Dizzy Knight

You can probably guess the basics of Dizzy Knight from its name. You're playing as a constantly spinning knight, who's out on a quest to destroy monsters. But you need to make sure you hit those monsters with your weapon, and not your exposed fleshy bits. No one likes getting their exposed fleshy bits hit. It looks like it's going to be a fun and frantic arcade-y action game. Which sounds ace.

Mr Juggler - preorder for iOS

This one's a far simpler proposition. It's all about tapping the screen to make people juggle. Sure, that doesn't sound like it's going to be challenging, but there's enough going on here to make you panic often. Plus you can juggle slices of pizza, fish, hot dogs, and swords. Don't do that in real life, do it from the safety of your mobile screen.
