Wales Interactive has announced its interactive FMV sci-fi thriller, The Complex, is coming to iOS and Android on 3rd December.

After a bio-weapon attack occurs in London, two scientists become locked in a laboratory with a limited air supply. Over the course of the game, you follow these two scientists as they make startling discoveries about the lab, form powerful relationships with other characters, and try to stay alive. You’ll also be making choices that affect the outcomes of these events, with it all ultimately leading up to one of eight different endings.

Your interactions with the different characters in the game will also affect a score that is consistently being calculated from the moment you hit play, and these choices greatly impact how warm or cold they feel towards you, as well as impacting the ending you get. It also has a personality tracking system where the decisions you make are charted with a breakdown at the end of each playthrough to summarise how you chose to approach each situation, with the chart being split into five categories: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.

Here’s a trailer that shows you what you’ll expect from the game. As it’s an FMV game, expect a lot of live-action performances and choice-based gameplay.

The Complex is written by Lynn Renee Maxcy, a writer who also worked on The Handmaid’s Tale television series. It stars Michelle Mylett from Letterkenny and Bad Blood, Kate Dickie who’s probably best known for playing the wicked Lysa Arryn from Game of Thrones, and Al Weaver from Grantchester. Twitch streamer Leahviathan also makes an appearance.

Originally releasing earlier this year on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, The Complex will be available to download as a premium title on the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android on 3rd December, but we don’t yet know what the price will be.
