When does the App Store shut down for the holidays?

Every holiday season the App Store shuts down for a few days in order to give Apple's employees a break. That doesn't mean you're not going to be able to download apps and games, but it does mean that there won't be any new games or updates landing on for iOS during those few days.

And now Apple has revealed when those days are. The last chance developers are going to have to upload new content or games is December 23rd. From then on we won't get any new things on the App Store until December 27th.

Where can I get App Store gift cards for the mobile gamer in my life?

That's an easy one. If you click this link you'll be taken to Apple's official store. There you'll be able to choose a number of different ways to send gift cards to your friends and family - either by email or by post.

There are different denominations available, and if you're looking to send a gift to someone who's in a different country, some credit they can use on that country's App Store might go down pretty darn well.
