So you've started playing Hero Academy 2, and you're feeling a little bit lost. Don't worry, we've got your back. So we've come up with a series of guides that are going to help you get to grips with everything that's going on in the game.

In this part, we're going to have a look at the various currencies in the game, what you can spend them on, and which ones you should focus on getting. Make sure you keep your eyes on 148Apps for more tips and tricks for this, and all your other favourite games.

Gold

Gold is the basic currency of the game. You'll get it for almost everything you do, from winning fights to finishing challenges. You can use it to buy Basic Card Packs. These get you three new cards to add to your deck.

Gems

Gems are the premium currency. You collect them by winning fights and completing challenges, but they're a lot rarer than Gold. You can use them to buy Premium Card Packs, unlock different campaigns for the solo mode, and get yourself some more gold.

Shards

You get shards by winning duels. The only thing they can be used for is opening up the special chest on the home menu. Once you've got enough of them, the chest will unlock and you'll get all of the goodies inside.

Inks

When you've got more cards than you can use, you can disenchant them to get inks. These can be used to craft new cards. It's unlikely you're going to have to deal with this in the first hour or three of play, but it's something to think about all the same. You'll craft cards from the Cards menu.
