Smilegate's popular turn-based RPG Epic Seven has received a new character who arrives today along with a side story that details their backstory. He should be available in both the iOS and Android versions of the game.

That new Hero is called Kawerik, who is a powerful mage with access to an AoE attack that is centred around speed. His attacking spells deal fire damage but the strength of his magic will also increase proportionally to his speed.

He also has access to other spells that hinder enemies. For instance, he can inflict 'Silence', dispel debuffs and increase skill cooldowns, potentially making him a very versatile character. His third skill is the AoE attack mentioned above, which will also partially penetrate an enemy's Defence if his speed has also increased.

His arrival in the game will also see the addition of his Side Story, 'Requiem for the Forsaken'. Here players will learn about Kawerik's time in the Archdemon War and how he was abandoned by society afterwards. His life hasn't been easy since that's for certain.

He now struggles with side effects caused by the various mage experiments he underwent in the past and now finds it difficult to make decisions because of it. His tragic backstory will be to our gain however, with a variety of useful items being obtained by completing his story. This includes the likes of Covenant Bookmarks, the ingredients that you'll need to gather so you can level-up Kawerik.

Epic Seven is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
