Dive deep into the lore of Waven in Ankamas’ new documentary series

One of the most interesting parts of a video game is diving into its lore and discovering the secrets of each world we visit, and Ankama Games is giving us a headstart into understanding the upcoming tactical game Waven, through its Exploring Waven documentary series.
The story of Waven is already sparking interest, with a variety of secrets to learn. The World of Twelve was once a thriving land until one day an unknown figure appeared in the sky and promptly exploded, unleashing The Great Wave and submerging the majority of the world underwater. Discovering the story just behind this would be very interesting. Nations are starting to rebuild despite the gods seemingly abandoning their people, and all was going well until massively destructive earthquakes began to wreck the already depleted lands, releasing monsters and chaos. Your journey begins rather inauspiciously, just another castaway washing up on a shore, but destined for great things.

Despite being a deeply fractured world, the people have managed to come together under four new clans to regain peace, with Evangelyne and the Clan of Order, the largest of these new groups, proving to be valuable allies as you embark on your journey to becoming a guardian of the world.
The first episode of Exploring Waven is hosted by Aurore, a narrative designer at Ankama, and someone well-equipped to discuss the series' inaugural topic; lore. The video goes over the background of the game, and touches on the lands you will travel, the people you will meet and their allegiances, as well as what makes each place unique.
This debut episode is incredibly interesting, and not overly long, so is definitely worth a look. Ankamas’ first two entries in this somewhat series, Dofus and Wakfu, were big hits, but this series shows that the scope of Waven will be much bigger, deeper, and evidently, much more interesting.
Waven will be available to download on Android and iOS towards the end of 2023.
