Digital Extremes releases prequel webcomic to get us pumped for Warframe: 1999
Do you like to read stories but are tired of all those bloody words getting in the way? If so, you probably aren’t reading this. I didn’t think that through... But moving on! Digital Extremes has released its much anticipated, by me, free prequel webcomic for Warframe: 1999.
What we already know about 1999 is that it features a group of six individuals that make up The Hex Syndicate. They each have a Protoframe, combat the Techrot, and have a complicated relationship with boy bands. But, how did they end up this way, and what unites them?
Developed in collaboration with Warframe community artist Karu, the Warframe: 1999 comic follows the Hex as they hunt down Albrecht Entrati. The man who just happened to have ruined their lives with his experiments. Nothing bonds like trauma. This 33-page webcomic will give you a few tools to fully understand Warframe: 1999 when it launches.
I hear you scream but, "When does it launch? Well, settle down. Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer, but I know who does. Or rather what, as the release date will be announced during The Game Awards. Streaming on Twitch, you will not only find out this destined day but watching for 30 minutes will net you Warframe Nyx. Set your alarms for December 12th and 19:40 ET.
For a bit of in-game fun, you can log into Warframe and pick up the comic book’s cover art as a free decoration from the marketplace. You can then use it to decorate your landing craft for a bit of that meta madness. If you want some real-life goodies and have access to a 3D printer, you can download the printing models of all Protoframes thanks to Hoku Props, and create your own army. Incidentally, anyone with a 3D printer, phone me.
Warframe is available to download from the App Store now.
