There’s a Crash Bandicoot endless runner coming to mobile sometime next spring.

Its publisher, King, has announced Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! will release on iOS and Android devices in Spring 2021, and the App Store listing suggests a launch date of 25th March.

This mobile spin-off to the popular platformer series will deliver the familiar classic gameplay that fans of the franchise will recognise. You’ll spin, jump and slide through the usual roster of Crash Levels playing as either Crash or his sister, Coco. There are hidden paths to discover, which are a lot more dangerous, but offer the potential of bigger rewards. Throughout the game you’ll fight iconic bosses from the series, including Scorporilla, Nitrus Brio, Nina Cortex, Dingodile, Fake Crash, and of course a showdown with Crash’s nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex, fully recreated from the level ‘The Lab’ in the original Crash Bandicoot game on Sony PlayStation.

Alongside this, there will also be base building and weapon crafting elements, with you being able to customise your Crash in a myriad of ways that will reward you with additional experience points.

Originally thought of as an iconic mascot for the Sony PlayStation consoles, Crash Bandicoot has spun his way onto a variety of consoles outside its original home. The series’ latest console installment, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time released earlier this month on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If you pre-register Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! in advance, you’ll also receive an exclusive Blue Hyene on launch day, a cosmetic item that first appeared in Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled.

Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! is headed for the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android sometime in Spring 2021, with pre-registers open on both now. The App Store listing suggests 25th March could be the launch date, but this could be a placeholder. It will be a free to play game with in-app purchases.
