Well hello there, and welcome to our weekly roundup of the best games that have been released for iPhone and iPad over the last seven days. It's not a vintage week, not by any stretch of the imagination, but there are definitely a good few games on this list that are worth your time, attention, and hard earned cash.

As always happens, I've whammed some download links into the copy so you can swan off to the App Store and grab any game that tickles your fancy post-haste. And if you think I've missed anything, which would be shocking, I know, make sure you let us know in the comments sections at the bottom of the article.

One Deck Dungeon - download for iOS

A super smart board game adaptation that mixes together cards, dice, and roguelike elements, to create something really rather special. There's deep strategy here, but it's presented in a pretty easy to understand package that you're going to get hours and hours of fun out of.

Deploy and Destroy - download for iOS

A game that has no right to be as good as it is. It's a mash-up of a hero collector and an FPS, and despite some slightly stodgy free to play elements, it's actually a bright and breezy blaster that isn't going to take up too much of your life. But the time you do devote to it is going to be time spent with a smile on your face.

Scalak - download for iOS

Some puzzle games like to hold your hand. Scalak doesn't even want to look at your hand. It's not super challenging, but taking your time and figuring out what it wants for you is all part of the fun. There are some great ideas here, and they're added regularly enough to make sure things stay fresh. Definitely one that's worth checking out.

Sir Questionnaire - download for iOS

A dungeon crawler with more than a few tricks up its sleeve. It takes the template of a subterranean RPG, then shakes it around and comes up with something that you might not have played before. It looks good, it plays well, and it shows just how much ingenuity is flying around in the indie dev scene at the moment.

Battlehand Heroes - download for iOS

This one's all about collecting heroes, building up a team, and using them to smash down the forces of evil. It's pretty generic in that way, but there are some ideas here that are designed to keep things fresh. It might not have the big licenses, but it's definitely had a lot of money thrown at it. If you like your games sitting in the midcore tier, then this is definitely worth checking out.

SwayBods - download for iOS

This is the sort of puzzler that was popular on the App Store a couple of years ago, but then sort of fell out of favor. It's a bit Cut The Rope, not that that's ever a bad thing. You need to wobble some balloons to finish the levels, but if they touch it can be catastrophic. Smart, charming, and the sort of thing you're probably going to play on the train home from work.

Odysseus Kosmos: Episode One - download for iOS

An old-school adventure game that's set in deep space. If you liked Monkey Island or its ilk, then it's likely that you're going to find something to enjoy here as well. There are puzzles to solve, characters to meet, and a rich vein of slightly silly humor that's running through the whole shebang.
