Artik Games releases Splashy Cats for Android and iOS

Splashy Cats had us hooked from the title alone, and when we found out the game was literally just zig-zagging one of our favourite pop-culture references, guised as a playable cat character, down a river – our appetites were whetted to say the least…

The title managed to reel in an impressive 200,000 downloads within only 48 hours of its release, but it’s hard not to see the appeal of such a simple, yet undeniably addictive game.

Following a simple, yet oh-so-effective premise, whereby you choose from a selection of pop culture saturated cat characters and then subject them to a rocky descent along a winding river.

Already released in over 120 countries worldwide, Splashy Cats features an amusing smorgasbord of feline friends inspired by various sources, including comics (The Joker), the Internet itself (Nyan Cat) and literature (Frankenstein). With slick graphics and a pretty environment to explore, the title provides a lot of entertainment for such a quick concept.

At the moment, you can pick up Splashy Cats and score yourself one of a number of VIP codes (which usually amount to $15) for reviewing the title, so get on it – these are great for accessing new skins and content.

Available for free now on the App Store and Google Play, we think it’s time to take a splash – just don’t try this at home.
