Amon Amarth Berserker is the latest game from Ride & Crash and serves as a follow up to the previous title that was simply called Amon Amarth. It's available now as a premium title for both iOS and Android.

If you find yourself thinking 'isn't Amon Amarth a Swedish heavy metal band?' then you'd be absolutely right. Both Amon Amarth Berserker and its predecessor took music by the band and transformed them into retro-styled video game music.

In the latest games case, these are all tracks that feature on their most recent album, unsurprisingly named Berserker which released in May 2019. So if the idea of retro-sounding heavy metal is appealing to you or you're just a fan of Amon Amarth, this might be the game for you.

Amon Amarth Berserker itself is a side-scrolling action game where you play as Thor, wielding his trusty mythical hammer Mjolnir. Players will battle their way through a myriad of enemies throughout the whole of Vinland. Mjolnir maintains its boomerang properties most people are familiar with at this point, so you'll be slinging it at foes and it'll quickly zoom back into your awaiting grasp.

Beyond that, you'll also be able to summon a group of berserkers to assist you in battle. They'll fly onto the screen, seemingly from nowhere and dive onto the enemies making them explode into a pixelated bloody pulp, with the berserkers also disappearing after the deed is done.

There are seven different levels in total for players to smash their way through, though at $2.99 that might seem too few depending on the length of each one. There are also 4 different skins to adorn Mjolnir, with each one applying a different effect to the mythical hammer.

Amon Amarth Berserker is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a premium title that costs $2.99. However, there are also additional IAPs for additional weapons.
