Mission Tasks are a great, ongoing source of tickets which you should be using to buy card packs with rare cards.

Rather than developing a huge collection of cards, you should be focusing your efforts on building your dream team. Work on getting a core set of really good cards to build out your team, rather than using a scattershot approach that will leave you with dozens of low quality cards. 

Once you've gathered a strong team, you should focus on upgrading your characters. Quick games are a good way to earn in-game currency that will let you make your team members stronger.
