Monster Hunter Now will soon release a skill to help get those status effects built up sharpish

Monster Hunter Now Season 6 has barely got started, yet we are already staring down the event as it rapidly approaches. It is another Driftsmelting Bonanza, which is a name that sounds incredibly cool. Like in Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds when they duel on bikes, but instead, it's smelting. Anyway, back to reality.
Coinciding with this event is the new Ailment Opportunist skill. This guarantees that your next attack after a perfect evade will inflict status buildup. The higher the skill level, the higher the buildup you get. To me, it is a skill that screams Dual Blades.
To acquire it, you need either a Mysterious Driftstone H or a Mysterious Driftgem H. These can grant your armour the Ailment Opportunist, Status Sneak Attack, or Blast Attack skill. You will no doubt be shocked to hear that to get these, you need to smack around some big beasties. Time for a roll call.
In the swamp, you can find Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, and Great Girros, with the desert hiding Nightshade Paolumu, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, and Bazelgeuse. The forest will hold Mizutsune, Nightshade Paolumu, Great Girros, and Bazelgeuse. Finally, the tundra will house Bazelgeuse and Mizutsune. Slaying any of these will get you a Driftstone.

Heading to the Hunt-a-thon, there are a trio of options this time. One will only have Bazelgeuse and Mizutsune, while another will add Tzitzi-Ya-Ku to that list. If you are really lucky, though, you will find a third Hunt-a-thon that offers all five targets. You could also hunker down in volatile territories when you see them, as Bazelgeuse will be the only monster to invade.
During the event, taking place from June 30th to July 6th, the rewards from slaying any of these five will increase by 50%, on top of the Driftstone. You will get two of each material in the first and second slots of the basic rewards. After all your effort, it's simply a case of setting up the driftsmelting and enjoying the reduced distance of 1km to get that sweet new skill.
