Are you a fan of the Charge Blade in Monster Hunter Now? Of course you aren’t, because it isn’t the Dual Blades. However, if you do like to waste an offensive arm during battle, then until June 8th, you can enjoy a boosted performance for all Charge Blades.

To give it its due, changing from Axe to Sword mode is pretty cool, so it can get a pass. By equipping this weapon and certain armour, you can complete limited-time quests to gain rewards, such as slaying Bazelgeuse and Zinogre. Clearing these will net you the likes of Earth crystals, Volvidon Bones, Nergigante Horn+, and Zenny.

As per usual, we have dragons popping up in specific biomes, so let's run down that list. Volvidon will show up in forests, and Barroth and Volvidon will appear in deserts and swamps. Aknosom and Zinogre can be spotted in forests, swamps, and tundras. Finally, Bazelgeuse will stalk all four of the forest, desert, swamp, and tundra locales.

Big Bazelgeuse will also be king of the volatile territories, being the only one who will show up there. You will also find more monsters influenced by Dimensional Rifts wandering around. For a tougher challenge, Nergigante will be the sole target in Elder Dragon Interceptions. If you repel the beast, you’ll receive double rewards, or a 50% increase if you slay them.

As for Hunt-a-thon points, there are two event-exclusive variants. One will contain Volvidon, Aknosom, and Barroth, with the other featuring Bazelgeuse, Zinogre, and Volvidon. Completing these will get you extra goodies, granting you two of each material in the first and second basic reward slots. You’ll also have a chance to earn 10 Rarity 1 materials upon slaying your quarry.

Finally, partaking in group hunts will give you a guaranteed monster material in slot two, with a chance of Alloy Armor Tickets in the third. After all this slaying, you might have bonded with the Charge Blade, and if so, you are in luck. All these materials can be used to craft armor sets that work very well with this weapon. It feels almost planned.

Monster Hunter Go is available from the App Store and Google Play. Don't forget, Niantic announced an arsenal of useful new features to take your gameplay to a new level.
