Little Red Riding Hood Interactive Storybook is a nice adaption of this classic tale that continues the story of Red and Grandma dealing with a second wolf.

Little Red Riding Hood Interactive Storybook Review

Little Red Riding Hood Interactive Storybook is yet another addition to my growing collection of stories, ebook and otherwise, of different versions of this tale about a girl who puts her trust in the wrong stranger on her way to grandmother's. A favorite tale of mine since childhood, I welcome these various adaptations as it interests me to see how they may differ from the well known Brothers Grimm version of the story, as well as others.

This version is intended to be read as a traditional book with no included narration. The illustrations are very colorful and nice to look at and include some subtle interactions and sound effects, as well as very nice music that I enjoyed as it adds a layer of suspense to this story. What I like about this story the most is that it is very true to the Brothers Grimm version of this classic, with the story continuing past where most Red Riding Hood tales end, with Red and Grandmother being saved by a woodsman coming to their rescue. Here, Red is later bothered by another wolf but having learned her lesson from before, Red and Grandma turn the tables on this new wolf, leading to his death.

I also appreciate that although classic take on this story is on the dark side, the illustrations nicely obscure the violence one would expect from this traditional retelling. Because of this, it is a nice choice for a parent looking for a thorough adaptation of a Grimm's tale while having some concerns about exposing their children to images too scary to be appealing. This app does a nice job of balancing tradition with the needs of sensitive children and their families in this nice re-telling of this classic story.
