Little Jake - All In A Hay's Work Review
Little Jake - All In A Hay's Work is a fun balancing game app for iPad with a fun western theme.

The Adventures of Little Jake & Many Skies: All In A Hay's Work is an iPad app based on the Canadian Kids Cartoon The Adventures of Little Jake & Many Skies.
I don’t know much about this TV show as it is not available where we live, but I still think this game is fun and engaging, about two completive kids, Little Jake and Many Skies who challenge each other to stack bales of hay in this western themed app.
Gameplay is simple to understand but tricky to master as one uses a tap to drop bales on top of each other from a distance, keeping in mind the directional arrow that should be centered on the previous bale to keep things balanced. This game speeds up as the player gets stacking, and it is nice that these bales have marking on them that can be lined up for the perfect stack, all of which gives hand-eye coordination a workout.
Kids can play by themselves or against a friend, and choices also include a basic “free mode” as well as “balance mode” in which things need to be stacked up just right or the bales fall over, as well as a “timed mode” in which the player stacks as many bales of hay in 60 seconds. One can enter high score as well if so interested.
I like the western theme used in this app, including upbeat music used and the ranch landscape that is used as the background to the stacking game, and it was fun seeing my level of stacking being compared to the height of a giraffe, a nice touch.
Those who are not familiar with these characters and TV show will still have a lot of fun with this stacking game. I recommend it for grade schoolers who like stacking games or western themed applications.
