Lost Twins Review

Lost Twins is a multi-faceted sliding puzzle game that follows two adorable twins as they make their way around a maze of a house. It combines platforming shenanigans with a shape puzzle mechanic, resulting in a game that's captivating and fun, and one that sets itself apart from the competition.

Players can alternate between the two tykes with a quick tap of the character button, helping to ensure that they collect all of the stars in each room. Once they've done that, they must then guide the twins to the magic door at end of the level. To do this, they'll need to rearrange the rooms into a compatible formation, so that the siblings can be reunited at the exit. After zooming out using the designated button, players must slide each block into the corresponding position, by aligning it with a matching block. When they are in the correct position, a glowing yellow divide will be created, allowing them to pass through what was previously a restricted force-field.

There were a few times when I found myself stuck in a rut with no option but to restart, though I only saw this as a minor inconvenience rather than a cause for frustration that comes with other puzzlers of the same ilk. This is largely thanks to the intelligent level design — demanding some forethought — and the vibrant visuals on offer. After all, how could I stay mad at those faces? With 3 colorful rooms on offer, each with 11 levels, there is decent amount of content to get through for the asking price. There is also a bonus classic slide puzzle at the end of each room, which is composed of the hidden tiles found in each level.

While I wouldn't call it a particularly difficult game, Lost Twins has an undeniable charm that is utterly infectious to the point where I nearly sat through the whole game in one go. Go and grab it while it's still on offer.
